Sarasota Jungle Gardens

Feeding the flamingos is excellent. Nice bird show. The birds are beautiful. Many of the other exhibits are closed for renovation. Not too crowded. A fun place to visit. Good for the younger kids because you're not there all day. 2 to 3 hours is plenty to see everything.

Had a blast bringing my three children here. They loved talking to the birds, feeding the flamingos and playing on the playground. It was a fairly hot day outside, but there is a large amount of shaded areas to relax and enjoy things. I think the maps and signs could use a little TLC, but weren't much of an issue. I was able to take some beautiful photos of the inhabitants as well. Certainly recommend to anyone in the area!

I have visited the zoo on a Sunday with my family. I was surprised because the zoo was not all that busy. Ticket price similar to other zoos $25 adults and $15 kids. If I had lived in that area I would consider buying seasonal or annual pass. The zoo has many exotic and domestic animals, but the best attraction is probably the interaction with the pink flamingos. For $3.50 we were able to buy a small bag of food and feed the flamingo. They also sell animal food from the small machines at the sites; for 50 cents you can get a handful of feed. The kids had so much fun while feeding the flamingos. The zoo has a small petting zoo with some goats, pigs and emu. Other animals in the zoo are small reptiles, alligators, crocodile, parrots, turtles, fish, porcupines, prairie dogs, lemurs, butterflies and few other kinds. They organize shows with birds and reptiles. The zoo has toilets, a small cafe, lots of areas for sitting and shade. There is a small playground for the kids to play. A gift shop is also available at the site. I gave this place four stars because: some of the employees are arrogant making the experience unpleasant. The second reason is because there was nothing healthy to eat and the food snacks are overpriced at the cafe. I recommend bringing some snacks or real food if you plan to be there for few hours. Overall positive experience.

We had a fantastic time at the jungle gardens and would def come back! Our family (all ages) had a lot of fun! The staff were kind, friendly, and knowledgeable on the animals. We enjoyed the shows and encounters as well! Highly recommend

What great experience that was! We loved the Sarasota Jungle Gardens! To feed the birds and flamingos was just awesome! The whole area is absolutely beautiful! It is a tropical dream! The staff was nice and helpful. We will come back for sure!
